Wine Department

Our wine department is one of the finest in Boston, offering an unparalleled variety of products from France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and South America, as well as the United States. Our custom-designed tasting room, where we conduct wine seminars for our customers, has been called the "best kept secret in town." We have one of the largest climate-controlled wine cellars of any store in the area.

Wine is an immensely complex and immensely rewarding pursuit. Blanchard's wine department specializes in satisfying and developing the palate of the wine customer at his or her own pace. At Blanchard's we aim to assist everyone, from neophytes seeking advice on pairing wine with food, to avid wine collectors eager to add rare and valuable bottles to their cellars.

Kent Gern is our wine department manager, wine buyer, and co-director of our wine tasting seminars. With almost two decades of experience in the wine industry, the majority of that spent at Blanchard’s, Kent brings a wealth of knowledge and a proven palate to our wine department.

Kevin Lowenthal is our wine department assistant manager, co-director of our wine tasting seminars, and the writer of our newsletter. After almost a decade in the wine business, he still finds that he learns something new every day.
